Dear Community,
We have some bittersweet news to share: Ready Tech Go has officially closed its doors after three incredible years. It all started with our small group of friends - Savraj, Kanwar, Jymit, Nikos, Kullie, and Tom - embarking on this journey at the beginning of the pandemic. Our shared goal was to bridge the digital divide in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster.
And what a meaningful impact we made!
We take immense pride in our achievements, particularly in repurposing and distributing hundreds of devices that would have otherwise become e-waste or surplus stock. Through our valuable partnerships with local community groups, we placed these devices into the hands of those who needed them most. The heartwarming stories we heard – children embracing online learning, older individuals connecting with loved ones, homeless individuals applying for housing, and single moms finding online work opportunities, among others – touched us deeply.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Ready Tech Go. Without you, none of our accomplishments would have been possible. Together, we truly changed lives.
Regrettably, as our team's lives evolved with new jobs, activities, partners, and even babies, we were faced with a difficult decision regarding our capacity to continue running Ready Tech Go solely on a voluntary basis. However, we firmly believe it was the right choice to close our doors. Although our formal journey has come to an end, our unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide remains steadfast.
Looking ahead, each of us has individual plans to continue advocating for this cause. Some of us will actively fight for a more inclusive digital future, while others will contribute behind the scenes, using our unique capacities to create a world where everyone has equal access and opportunities in the digital realm.
To all the incredible individuals who formed our community, we hope our paths will cross again, and together, we will continue making a positive impact.
